These music themed log or fireplace tongs, are made to compliment my Treble Clef fire pokers. A repeat client commissioned me to forge a set of fireplace tongs to match their treble clef fire poker. I was so pleased with how they turned out , I decided to offer them for other music lovers. Hand forged in rural Appalachia each pair is made to order at the anvil. After forging both of the jaws and handles , the two halves are riveted together. The last step is to remove loose forge scale and apply a beeswax based hot finish to darken the ironwork and help prevent rust. *** available in roughly 30” and 36” lengths. select tongs only or add a matching fire poker!*** Iron is the Traditional 6 year wedding anniversary gift, Steel is the 11th year. The words Iron and Steel are almost always used interchangeably in Blacksmithing due to the availability of materials Items that would have been made from Wrought Iron, are now made from mild low carbon steel, the closest we as modern smiths can find readily available.
