Unique Braided Twist Fire Poker Functional Art
from $149.99
up for grabs is this elegant Fire Poker hand forged in rural Appalachia! It features a “Braided” Twist that makes for an aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable handle, while a forged ring allows the poker to easily be hung up for display and storage when not in use. The working end is a traditional fire poker, able to push and pull logs, lift dutch oven lids etc. The overall length on this poker is roughly 36-38 inches. After forging the fire poker and hot stamping my touch mark I remove any loose forge scale and apply several coats of paste wax at a very low heat to achieve a traditional blackened finish and help prevent rust. If a silver finish is desired all of the forge scale is removed prior to applying the finish. ***While shipping is "free" to buyers, I’m paying 25-30+$ to ship fire pokers due to new shipping rates.*** The length of this poker makes it perfect for an indoor fireplace, wood burning stove, or outdoor campfire. I also make custom fire pokers to order you choose your length, style etc. Feel free to message me with any questions. Iron is the Traditional 6 year wedding anniversary gift, Steel is the 11th year. The words Iron and Steel are almost always used interchangeably in Blacksmithing due to the availability of materials Items that would have been made from Wrought Iron, are now made from mild low carbon steel, the closest we as modern smiths can find readily available. Thanks for checking out my blacksmith shop! Carter Conley
