This Knot Sculpture was Forged By Artist Blacksmith Carter Conley in his Blacksmith shop in Rural Appalachia. Made from recycled materials. Part of what Carter loves about blacksmithing is transforming everyday items or scrap metal into something interesting and artistic. Perfect for a wedding gift(tying the knot) or for anyone that enjoys unique art. After forging and stamped with my touch-mark (on the bottom) I remove all the forge scale to reveal the shiny metal below I then if applicable will add your personalization . Iron is the Traditional 6 year wedding anniversary gift, Steel is the 11th year. The words Iron and Steel are almost always used interchangeably in Blacksmithing due to the availability of materials Items that would have been made from Wrought Iron, are now made from mild low carbon steel, the closest we as modern smiths can find readily available.
