A Unique Literal Take on a Jewelry Tree Functional Art
$149.99
The jewelry tree pictured was forged as a gift it was such a hit I have decided to offer them for others to enjoy! These ring trees make creative use of several traditional blacksmith techniques. Hand forged in rural Appalachia these take a lot of time at the anvil, as each root, branch etc are individually forged before being combined and forge welded together to create the tree. After being assembled the roots and branches are individually bent and twisted until The desired aesthetic is achieved. After forging and cleanup work the jewelry tree is given a traditional blackened finish, to darken the iron and prevent rust. Iron is the Traditional 6 year wedding anniversary gift, Steel is the 11th year. The words Iron and Steel are almost always used interchangeably in Blacksmithing due to the availability of materials Items that would have been made from Wrought Iron, are now made from mild low carbon steel, the closest we as modern smiths can find readily available.
