Cloak Pin, Pennanular Brooch, Blanket Pin Many names for this ancient fashion accessory! While these are individually hand forged in rural Appalachia Brooches like this have been used for over a thousand years all over the world to keep cloaks, blankets, scarfs, or other garments secured. Perfect for those that attend Renaissance Faires or LARP events. Many wilderness survival experts also recommend having one or two cloak pins in your bug out bag, quickly turn a wool army blanket into a cloak, or use the point of the brooch as an Awl for punching holes. The Cloak pins are Forged from 1/4" mild steel, the points are forged much thinner than the frames as to not poke huge holes in the garment you choose to wear them with. Cloak pins are designed to be used with loosely knitted clothing or blankets, think wool army surplus blankets, the woven "mexican" blankets , knitted scarves etc. After forging any loose forge scale is removed and the cloak pin is then given a traditional beeswax based finish to help prevent rust.
