Traditional Flint Striker Fire Steel High Primitive Fire Starter for Survival ,Frontiersman Rendezvous, Living History, Camping

from $34.99
These flint strikers, sometimes called fire steels are individually hand forged at my blacksmith shop in rural Appalachia. Each flint striker starts off as a section of up-cycled coil spring, (part of what I enjoy as a blacksmith is making something useful out of items that were destined for the scrap yard). Being totally forged to finish each striker will be unique the photos are examples of some strikers I forged in the past. After forging and being hot stamped with my touch-mark they are heated to non magnetic and oil quenched. After heat treating and tempering I test each striker to ensure they produce sparks, they then get a traditional beeswax based finish. Select a single flint striker or a Full kit including flint, tinder, char-cloth material and a metal char-cloth tin in the drop down menu. Thanks for checking out my one man blacksmith shop!
